The Opportunity
As Head Mechanic, you will lead our maintenance shop, ensuring all golf course equipment, vehicles, and machinery are serviced, repaired, and ready for daily operations. You’ll work closely with the Course Superintendent and maintenance leadership to implement maintenance schedules, manage inventory, and support the entire maintenance team so the resort runs at peak performance.

Roles & Responsibilities
As Head Mechanic, you will:
• Lead and perform diagnosis, repair, and preventive maintenance of golf course equipment including mowers (reel & rotary), carriers, tractors, sprayers, and utility vehicles.
• Manage, organize, and maintain the equipment shop, tools, and inventory in a safe and efficient manner.
• Establish and oversee preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and prolong equipment life.
• Schedule and direct workflow for assistant mechanics and helpers, provide training, and ensure tasks are completed to high standards.
• Keep accurate records of all maintenance activities, parts usage, and equipment condition.
• Collaborate closely with the Course Superintendent and Turf team to coordinate priorities and support daily operations.
• Ensure compliance with all safety policies and procedures while fostering a safe working environment.

Competencies & Qualifications
We’re looking for candidates who can demonstrate:
• Proven experience in mechanical maintenance and repair, ideally in golf course or similar outdoor equipment environments.
• Strong understanding of gasoline, diesel, and small engine systems.
• Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and perform accurate diagnostics.
• Skilled with reel sharpening, height-of-cut adjustments, alignment, and mower calibration.
• Inventory, parts management, and preventive maintenance planning experience.
• Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
• Valid driver’s license and commitment to safety standards.
• Leadership ability, willingness to mentor, and capacity to manage workload and priorities.
