Irrigation Technician/2nd Assistant Superintendent

Position Overview:
Mountain View Golf Club is seeking a motivated and skilled Irrigation Technician / Second Assistant Superintendent. Reporting to the Golf Course Superintendent, this role assists in overseeing all irrigation operations, including repairs, scheduling, and water management across the golf course.

The position supports ongoing maintenance needs and contributes to the overall conditioning and playability of the course.

Main Responsibilities:
• Perform daily moisture checks and ensure hand-watering as appropriate.
• Maintain and adjust the irrigation system for optimal coverage.
• Perform ongoing repairs to the existing PVC system as needed.
• Assist in project managing the new PVC/HDPE hybrid installation.
• Maintain irrigation inventory.
• Assist with nightly irrigation planning to meet overall water use targets.
.• Check effectiveness of sprinkler heads, maintain, repair, and adjust as needed.
• Assist with supervisory duties when required.
• Operate all machinery and perform other golf course maintenance as required by the
superintendent.

Qualifications:
• Experience working with both PVC and HDPE systems an asset.
• Experience with Toro Lynx software/sprinkler heads and Rain Bird sprinkler heads an asset.
• Ability to work independently and solve mechanical/irrigation issues.
• Physical ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License required.
• Turf grass management or related field education (not required but an asset).
• Two years of golf course irrigation experience preferred.
• Previous supervisory experience preferred

Compensation & Benefits:
• $28-30/hour depending on experience

Work Environment and Schedule:
• This is a seasonal position (flexible 8-9 months) with work beginning in March/April until the end
of November with possible year-round employment for the right candidate.
• Full-time flexible work schedule with overtime potential and an average 40–44-hour work week.
