Summary:
As the golf course Spray Technician at Kokanee Springs Resort, you will perform pesticide and fertilizer applications. You may be asked to do other general golf course maintenance tasks as part of the ground’s maintenance team. This role will be vital in helping to ensure that the golf course is always presented at the highest possible standards.
Essential Functions:
• Responsible for making all required turf-related pesticide and fertilizer applications on the golf course under the Integrated Pest
Management Act of British Columbia while emphasizing safe working procedures.
• Responsible for performing preventative maintenance on and to ensure proper calibration of all pesticide and fertilizer application
equipment.
• Responsible for maintaining complete and accurate records of all applications promptly.
• Responsible for maintaining a current inventory of pesticides/fertilizers.
• Responsible for training and supervising staff assigned to aid in fertility applications while advocating workplace safety.
• Reporting of any observed irregularities in turf quality to the Superintendent.
• To help maintain the function and cleanliness of the Kokanee Springs Golf Course equipment, equipment maintenance facility and
the Atco staff/office building.
• Performing multiple other ongoing daily turf maintenance duties as required as a part of the golf course grounds maintenance team.
Successful Candidates will possess the following:
• Previous experience in a similar role including spray and fertility application equipment use, maintenance and troubleshooting.
• The Spray Technician must be able to work outdoors in many different types of weather conditions and needs to be able to focus on
the tasks at hand for 8-hour days and be physically capable of carrying out all golf course maintenance-related tasks such as
repeatedly lifting 25kg bags and 10 L jugs as well as having the ability to stand, walk, kneel, bend, use landscaping tools or operate
turf maintenance equipment for up to 8-hour shifts.

• Strong oral communication skills.
• Ability to work well with others to promote a cohesive team environment.
• Experience working with a computer and using Microsoft Office including Word and Excel.
• Must hold a valid driver’s license (BC class 5 or equivalent) and have transportation to work.
• Early morning starter and able to work a 5-day (40hr) work week.
• Steel-toe chemical-resistant boots are required.
• A variety of work clothing is recommended. Example: work gloves and rain gear. (Application-related safety supplies such as spray
suits, respirators, goggles, and gloves will be supplied)

Required certification: a valid 5-year British Columbia Pesticide Applicators Certificate
Wage: $23.00 - $26.50 per hour
