Superintendent

ASSISTANT SUPERINTENDENTS LOOKING FOR FIRST SUPERINTENDENTS POSITION SHOULD CONSIDER APPLYING.

We are seeking a dedicated Superintendent to oversee golf course maintenance operations. The ideal candidate will possess capable leadership skills, knowledge of golf maintenance and turf sustainability, operation and maintenance of irrigation systems and fertilization and pesticide management within a golf agronomy environment. This role offers an opportunity to lead diverse projects, coordinate teams, and contribute to the beautification and sustainability of our course using skills acquired through a combination of education, experience and mentorships.

Duties

• Supervise daily operations of golf course maintenance programs and projects
• Manage and support the maintenance budget
• Oversee all equipment required to maintain the golf course
• Manage irrigation systems, including maintenance and repair to ensure optimal
water management
• Supervise staff, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations to foster
a productive team environment
• Collaborate with all stakeholders to understand project requirements and deliver
tailored golf course maintenance solutions
• Always ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards.
• Maintain detailed project documentation, schedules, and reports for management
review

Qualifications

• Knowledge of golf course maintenance practices acquired through formal
education and / or hands on experience.
• Leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage diverse teams effectively
• Organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects
simultaneously
• Effective communication skills for collaboration with management and team
members
• Hold valid certifications and licensing relating to Pesticide management including
an Ontario Landscape Exterminators License and IPM accreditation.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Contract length: 8 months with possible extension

Work Location: Callander, ON

Remuneration: Currently $1,300 to $1,600 / weekly during contract period.
