POSITION SUMMARY: The position has combined Alberta Chapter and National portfolio responsibilities. As the Regional Director, the candidate will be responsible for advancing NGCOA Canada’s mission in Alberta by delivering exceptional member service, driving membership growth, and leading regional programs and partnerships that benefit golf course operators. As the Business Development Sales Coordinator, the will also work closely with the Chief Commercial Officer on sponsorship and program sales.

This position combines relationship management, sales, event coordination, and advocacy, supporting both regional and national initiatives of the Association.

This position will work closely with the CEO, the Alberta Chapter Advisory Board and the Chief Commercial Officer while also working alongside a national team of 20 professionals. This position operates from a home office within Alberta and requires travel throughout the province and occasionally within Canada.

The responsibilities consist of:

NGCOA Canada - Alberta Chapter Regional Director

Membership:

  • Working closely with the National membership team, lead all member acquisition and renewal efforts within Alberta.
  • Support and consult with existing members to enhance engagement and retention.
  • Collaborate with the National Director of Membership to develop and execute membership campaigns and outreach initiatives.

Regional Leadership:

  • Plan and execute regional meetings, events, and committee activities.
  • Manage meeting logistics, communications, speakers, and agenda development.
  • Professionally represent NGCOA Canada within the golf community and with key stakeholders.

Regional and National Initiatives:

  • Manage Alberta initiatives that support the success of member facilities
  • Ongoing support and promotion of national programs including, but not limited to, Membership Acquisition & Retention, Golf Business Canada Magazine, Golfmax Purchasing Program, Golf Business Canada Conference & Trade Show, Market Research, Take A Kid to the Course Week, Government Relations.

Business Development Sales Coordinator

Sponsorship Sales:

  • Assist in securing sponsorships for NGCOA Canada programs, including but not limited to:
    • Take A Kid To The Course
    • Ottawa Gatineau Golf Expo
    • EXPOGOLF
    • Canadian GOLFEXPO Online
    • GEO Foundation for Sustainable Golf

Program Sales:

  • Contribute to the growth of national programs through the sale of advertising and partnerships, including but not limited to:
    • National and Chapter Affiliates
    • GreenMaster and Golf Business Canada magazine advertisements
    • Trade Show: exhibit space and sponsorship opportunities at Golf Business Canada Conference & Trade Show
    • Collaborate with the Business Development team to ensure consistent program delivery, sponsor satisfaction, and measurable results across all initiatives.

Public Relations & Advocacy:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with members, non-NGCOA Canada golf operators, allied golf associations, suppliers, media, golfers, and government agencies.
  • Professionally represent NGCOA Canada at all times including in public forums, industry events, and stakeholder meetings.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proven project management and event planning abilities
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Proven sales results
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, CRM systems, and virtual collaboration tools
  • Experience in the golf, sport, or hospitality sector is an asset
  • Valid driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle
